William Grindon was the son of William Grindon and his wife née Ann Gould. They lived at Ashholme in Warslow in the parish of Alstonefield, Staffordshire.
William Grindon appears to have been twice married, but the maiden surnames of the mothers of his children are unknown. The children were as follows, all baptised at Alstonefield:
Ann Grindon. She was baptised on 30 December 1712.
William Grindon. He was baptised on 31 December 1714. On 24 February 1749 at Alstonefield he married his first cousin Mary Grindon, daughter of John and Ann Grindon also of Ash Holme. He died in 1790, and was buried at Alstonefield on 24 September 1790.
Elizabeth Grindon 1723-1790. She was baptised on 7 February 1722/23. On 23 January 1741/2 she was married at Alstonefield to William Gould 1704-1757 as his second wife. He was born in 1704 at Pilsbury Grange near Hartington in Derbyshire, the second son of William Gould 1677-1772 and his wife née Anne Morewood 1679-1749.
Their father William Grindon died in 1726 and was buried at Alstonefield on 26 March 1726.
He had made his Will on 14 March 1725/26, and an Inventory of his goods and chattels was taken on 4 April 1726. His Will was proved on 12 May 1726 at Cheadle in Staffordshire.
