William Grindon was the son of William Grindon who died in 1659 and his wife Elizabeth (maiden surname unknown). They lived at Ashholme in Warslow in the parish of Alstonefield, Staffordshire.
He married Ann Gould on 31 August 1662 at Alstonefield, and they had the following children, both baptised at Alstonefield:
William Grindon. He seems to have been twice married, and had two children by Ann (maiden surname unknown) both baptised at Alstonefield, namely Ann Grindon (baptised on 30 December 1712, and William Grindon (baptised on 31 December 1714 and buried there on 24 September 1790). By Sarah (maiden surname also unknown) he had a daughter Elizabeth Grindon. She was baptised on 7 February 1722/23 at Alstonefield, and was married there on 23 January 1741/2 as his second wife to William Gould 1704-1757. Their father William Grindon died in 1726 and was buried at Alstonefield on 26 March 1726.
John Grindon. He married Ann (maiden surname unknown). They lived at Ashholme and had five daughters, three of whom survived to adulthood. He died in died 1746 and was buried at Alstonefield on 21 September 1746. His widow died in 1759 and was buried on 1 November in that year also at Alstonefield.
Their father William Grindon died in 1710. He had made his Will on 17 December 1709, and an Inventory of his goods and chattels was taken on 20 November 1710. His Will was proved on 23 November 1710 at Cheadle in Staffordshire.
