Will Of William Grindon died 1710

The Will of William Grindon who died in 1710.

"In the name of god Amen; the seaventeenth day of December 1709 in the eight year of the Reigne of our Sovereign Lady Anne over great Brittaine France And Ireland Queene defender of the faith &c I William Grindon of Asholme in the parish of Alstonfield And County of Stafford yeoman being sick And weake in body but of sound And perfect Memory (praise be given to god for the same) And knowing the uncertainty of this Life on earth And being desirous to Settle things in order doe make this my Last Will And Testament in Manner And forme Following: that is to say first And principly I commend my soule to Almighty god my Creator Assuredly beleiveing that I shall receive full pardon And free remission of all my Sinnes And be saved by the precious death and Merrits of my Saviour And redeemer Christ Jesus And my body to the earth from whence it was taken to be buried in such decent and Christian manner as to my executor hereafter named shall be thought fitt And convenient; And as Touching such Worldly estate as the Lord in Mercy hath Lent me my Will And Meaning is that the same shall be employed And bestowed as hereafter by this my Will is expressed
Item I doe give And bequeath unto my Son William Grindon the house And tenements thereunto belonging Which I purchased of Henry Coape mow in Lease under Sir John Harpur all my right & title to him & his heirs for ever
Item I doe give unto the said William grindon my son the summe of one Hundred And sixty pounds to be paid out of my real And personal estate
Item I give to my son William the Third part if my Quick Cattle And the third part of my househoulde stuff And one third part of all husbandry wares And my Mind And Will is that my son William shall have Meat Drinke And Lodging sufficient soe long as he shall keep himself unmarried at my house at Ashholme Where I now Inhabitt & Live
Item I give unto my Brother Thomas Grindon the summe of one pound: Item I doe give unto Ann Kirkham my servant one bond of five pounds And all the Interesrt that is due owing by Mt Flesher And my son John to Make her A letter of Attorney for the recovering of it the bond being made in his Name; And allsoe I doe give unto Ann Kirkham Three pounds and shee is to receive it of her brother Richard Kirkham which is owing to me at the present
Item My Mind And Will is that Elizabeth Burton my servant shall have Meat drink And Lodging sufficient provided for her by John Grindon my son at the house where I now Live soe long as it shall please god shee shall Live
Item I give and bequeath the rest And residue of my goods Cattles And Chattels And real And personal estate after payment of my debts funerall expences And Legacies Above mentioned to John Grindon my son Which I doe hereby Nominate And Apoint executor of this my Last Will And Testament And I doe hereby revoske And make void all other Wills And Legacies or bequests by me in Any Wise made given: In Witnes whereof I have hereunto sett my hand And seal the day And year Above Written
