Mary Askey 1720-1793

Mary Askey was born in 1720 at Ashover in Derbyshire, the daughter of James Askey and his wife Anne (maiden surname unknown). She was baptised on 26 July 1720.

She was married on 31 July 1762 at Ashover to Samuel Allen of Ashover. They had a daughter Betty Allen, baptised at Ashover on 26 May 1765.

Samuel Allen died in 1805 and was buried at Ashover on 23 March 1805.
Mary Allen died in 1793 and was buried at Ashover on 21 May 1793 (1).

(1) Just possibly she may have been the Mary Allen who was buried at Ashover on 24 September 1809. However that Mary Allen was not recorded as then being a widow, as was the custom in the Ashover register.
