Dorothy Askey 1731-

Dorothy Askey was born in 1741 at Ashover in Derbyshire, the daughter of James Askey and his wife Anne (maiden surname unknown). She was baptised there on 3 March 1731.

She was married on 13 November 1753 at Ashover to William Watkinson of North Wingfield.

They had the following children, both baptised at North Wingfield:

Ann Watkinson. She was baptised on 15 September 1754.

Betty Watkinson. She was baptised on 4 April 1756.

The family appear to have moved away from North Wingfield after 1756, as no record of this family has been found in the marriage and burial registers of that parish.
