Anne Askey 1728-1758

Anne Askey was born in 1728 at Ashover in Derbyshire, the daughter of James Askey and his wife Anne (maiden surname unknown). She was baptised at Ashover on 23 June 1728.

On 7 February 1751 she was married at Ashover to John Sneath (1). He was baptised at Ashover on 27 January 1712, the son of John and Sarah Sneath.

They had the following children, all baptised at Ashover:

James Sneath. He was baptised on 29 December 1751. He married Jane Barker at Ashover on 28 August 1769. They had the following children, all baptised at Ashover: John Sneath (baptised 8 April 1770), Thomas Sneath (20 March 1772), Joseph Sneath (30 April 1775), George Sneath (10 January 1777), Francis Sneath (23 July 1780), and Betty Sneath (1 September 1782).

Thomas Sneath. He was baptised on 14 July 1754.

Sarah Sneath. She was baptised on 2 April 1758. She died unmarried in 1774, and was buried at Ashover on 1 January 1775.

Their mother Anne Sneath died in 1758 and was buried at Ashover on 4 August 1758.

(1) He was probably the John Sneath who was buried at Ashover on 13 February 1760 or the man of the same name who was buried there on 16 November 1779.
