Frank Wright was born on 4 March 1842 at Bradbourne in Derbyshire, the son of William Wright 1796-1882 and his wife nee Elizabeth Gould 1802-1843.
In 1861 he was a corn merchant and farmer of 135 acres living in Derby Road in Ashbourne, with his wife Mary Jane Smith (born in 1848 at Blore in Staffordshire). Ten years later he was living at Hill Top on Old Derby Road in Ashbourne (which may have been the same address). He was also an Agent for his brother-in-law Nathaniel Gould 1824-1874 of Manchester.
Their children were:
Mary Elizabeth Wright. She was born on 13 December 1870. She was married on 23 November 1892 at Osmaston church near Ashbourne in Derbyshire to Ernest Yates 1866-1947 of Auckland, New Zealand. He was born in 1866 in Manchester, the fourth son of Samuel Yates, The Headlands, Didsbury, Manchester (1). Mary Elizabeth Yates nee Wright died on 14 October 1949 in Auckland, New Zealand.
Edith Wright. She was born on 26 March 1872, and was married to Percy Yates 1873-1936. He was the brother of Ernest Yates who married her sister Mary Elizabeth Wright. They were the sons of Samuel Yates 1831-1901 and his wife nee Mary McMullen 1832-1890. Edith Yates nee Wright died on 28 July 1958, and was buried at at Osmaston near Ashbourne in Derbyshire.

Henry Gould Wright. He was born on 9 September 1876. He died on 19 November 1879 aged three years, and was buried at Osmaston.
Amy Gould Wright. She was born on 9 April 1882 and died in 1959. When the Census was taken in 1891 she was visiting her uncle John Smith at Sponds Farm, Alton in Staffordshire. He was the brother of her mother Mary Jane Smith 1845-1883. His wife
His first wife Mary Jane Wright died in 1883 aged 38 years, and was buried at Osmaston.
On 8 September 1886 Frank Wright married Fanny Potter in St Mary's Cathedral, Edinburgh. She was born on 18 October 1859 at the home of her parents, Thomas Potter and his wife, of Barton Park near Ashbourne (2).
Their children were:
James Potter Wright. He was born on 3 or 5 January 1888. He was a bachelor and lived at 33 Regent Terrace in Edinburgh (3).
Reginald William Wright. He was born on 27 October 1894. He died unmarried on 6 December 1916 and was buried at Osmaston.
When the 1901 Census was taken his household at Hill Top included the widowed Mary Fearn employed as a monthly nurse.
Fanny Wright nee Potter died on 3 April 1911, and was buried at Osmaston.
Frank Wright died on 15 June 1913 and was buried with his second wife at Osmaston.

(3) This house was also sometime the home of his mother’s sister Lady Gibson and her husband Sir James Gibson JP MP. The latter was of R and T Gibson Ltd, 93 Princes Street, Edinburgh, Tea and Coffee Merchants and Grocers, By Appointment to King George V, where James Potter Wright was employed.
