William Horobin was born on 19 October 1771 at Sheen in Staffordshire, the son of William Horobin 1749-1825 and his wife née Ann Mellor, and was baptised on 17 November 1771 at Sheen (1).
On 16 October 1791 he married Hannah Barker in Manchester Collegiate Church, now Manchester Cathedral.
They had the following children:
Daniel Horobin. He was born in 1791, and lived at Sheen Race. He died on 23 February 1875 aged 84 years at Sheen Moor Lane, and was buried at Sheen.
Benjamin Horobin. He was born in 1795 and baptised on 26 April 1795 at Sheen. From at least 1832 until 1848 he was living at Ferny Knowl in Sheen (1). He died in 1849.
Thomas Horobin. He was born in 1802.
John Horobin. He was born in 1805.
Hannah Horobin. She was born in 1811.
Ann Horobin. She was born in 1817.
Elizabeth Horobin. She was born in 1818. She was married to John Wood on 4 May 1838 at Sheen.
Their father William Horobin died on 25 December 1844 at Sheen Moor Race in Sheen parish (2) and was buried on 30 December 1844 at Sheen.
(1) In his father's Will he had been bequeathed five shillings. Presumably as the eldest son William Horobin 1771-1844 inherited his father's extensive holdings at Crowdecote and elsewhere not otherwise bequeathed.
