Ralph Phillips 1780-1859

Ralph Phillips was born in 1780, the son of Ralph Phillips (born in 1741) and his wife née Ann Birch (born in 1741).

On 2 January 1804 he married Eunice Nadin (born in 1785) at Alstonefield in Staffordshire. She was also known as Unicey, Nice or Nicey.

They had the following children, all born and baptised at Warslow:

Sarah Phillips. She was born in 1807, and baptised on 12 April 1807.

Ralph Phillips. He was born in 1811, and baptised on 5 May 1811.

William Phillips. He was born in 1813, and baptised on 14 February 1813. He married Mary Baker, and they lived in West Bromwich, Staffordshire. He died in 1857.

Michael Phillips. He was born in 1815, and baptised on 19 February 1815. He married Anne Swinsco on 22 October 1837 at Hanley in Staffordshire. She was the daughter of Samuel Swinsco. They lived at Smallthorne, Norton-in-the-Moors in Staffordshire. He died in 1893 aged 76 years.

Joseph Phillips. He was born in 1817 at Elkstone in Warslow parish, and baptised on 23 March 1817.

Abraham Phillips. He was born in 1820, the twin of his brother Josiah Phillips, and baptised on 24 July 1820. He married Maria Shone 1828-1901, and died in 1893.

Josiah Phillips. He was born in 1820, the twin of his brother Abraham Phillips, and baptised on 24 July 1820. He married Mary Dale in 1848 at Cheadle in Staffordshire. She was born in 1817 at Chell in Staffordshire. Josiah Phillips was an outdoor labourer, and died in 1870 aged 51 years.

Hannah Phillips. She was born in 1823, and baptised on 8 May 1823. She was married to William Phillips 1815-1873, and died in 1888.

Their father Ralph Phillips died in 1859.
