John Bennington was born in 1733 at Wendling in Norfolk. He was the son of Thomas Bennington and his wife nee Ann Bateman.
He married Margaret Minns in about 1762.

William Bennington. He was born in about April 1765, and baptised on 21 April 1765.
John Bennington. He was born in about October 1768.
Minns Bennington. He was born in about March 1770, baptised on 1 April 1770, and died on 5 October 1770 at Gressenhall.
