Isaac Berisford 1849-1897

Isaac Berisford was born in 1849 at Hartington in Derbyshire, the son of George Berisford and his wife nee Sarah Howard. His father was a shoemaker. He was baptised at Hartington on 7 February 1849.

In 1871 Isaac Berisford was working as a farm servant for John Redfern at Hartington Hall.

He married Olive Berisford on 27 January 1872 at Alstonefield in Staffordshire. She was born at Hope in Alstonefield parish in 1853, the daughter of George and Elizabeth Berisford.

In 1881 he was living with his wife and children in Alstonefield, employed as a farm labourer. When the 1891 Census was taken he was living at Load Lane in Alstonefield, working as a surfaceman on the main road.

Isaac and Olive Berisford had the following children, all born in Alstonefield:

Elizabeth Berisford. She was born in 1872.

George Berisford. He was born in 1874.

Joseph Berisford. He was born in 1876.

Sarah Berisford. She was born in 1880.

Isaac Berisford. He was born in 1888.


Their father Isaac Berisford died in 1897 aged 48 years.
His wife Olive Berisford died in 1924 aged 71 years.
