Ann Horobin was born in 1825 at Sheen in Staffordshire, the daughter of John Horobin 1779-1845 and his wife née Elizabeth Wilkinson 1785-1865.
When the Census was taken in 1851 she was living with her then unmarried victualler brother Thomas Horobin, sisters Kate Horobin and Hannah Horobin, and widowed mother Elizabeth Horobin née Wilkinson. By 1861 she housekeeping for her unmarried brother Thomas Horobin, then recorded as being a farmer.
In 1863 she was married to James Brindley 1818-1895, born at Brund in Sheen. They lived at Nab End in Longnor, Staffordshire.
When the Census was taken in 1871 they were farming eighteen acres at Near Nab End in Longnor. With them were John Housley aged eleven and Elizabeth Housley aged ten, the children of Kate Housley née Horobin, sister of Ann Brindley.
Ann Brindley née Horobin died on 26 January 1876 at Nab End aged 52 years. She was buried on 31 January 1876 at Earl Sterndale churchyard. A gravestone there is inscribed to her memory and that of her husband.
Her husband James Brindley died on 20 March 1895 at Earl Sterndale aged 77 years, and was buried there on 23 March 1895.
