Nat Gould

Thomas Gould 1774-1832

Thomas Gould was baptised at Hope on 13 July 1774, the son of Richard Gould 1747-1822 and his wife nee Elizabeth Bagshaw 1740-1812, daughter of Thomas Bagshaw of Abney Grange in Derbyshire.

He married Margaret Wells 1779-1838 of Lancashire.
They had the following children, all baptised and buried at Hope :

Thomas Gould. He was baptised on 23 May 1805.

Mary Gould. She was baptised on 31 January 1807. She died in 1825 and was buried on 1 February 1825 aged 18 years.

Elizabeth Gould. She was baptised on 19 February 1809.

Frances Gould. Baptised on 23 April 1811, she died in 1828 and was buried on 16 September 1828 aged 17 years.

William Wells Gould. Baptised on 11 April 1813, he died in 1875, and was buried on 5 January 1876.

Micah Wells Gould. He was baptised on 2 July 1815.

Ellen Gould. Baptised on 6 August 1818, she died in 1828 aged 9 years. She was buried on 2 May 1828. The register adds "of Harrop Field".

Samuel Gould. He was baptised on 19 November 1821.


Their father Thomas Gould died in 1832 aged 57 years, and was buried at Hope on 17 May 1832.

His wife Margaret Gould nee Wells died in 1838 aged 59 years then "of Hayfield", and was buried at Hope on 6 January 1839.
