Charles Bartram was born in 1853 at Marchington in Staffordshire, the son of David William Bartram 1828-1885 and his wife née Elizabeth Farmer 1826-1905.

He married Hannah Phillips 1860-1930 in 1884. She was born in 1860 at Warslow in Staffordshire, the daughter of William Phillips 1815-1873 and his wife née Hannah Phillips 1823-1888 of Clough Head in Warslow.

Charles Bartram and his wife Hannah Bartram née Phillips lived at 5 Lillian Street, Beswick in Manchester, and by 1911 at 50 Mitchell Street in Ancoats, Manchester. He was a drayman, working in 1891 for a railway company and afterwards for a brewery in Manchester. He became a Special Constable during the First World war, and did point duty in Manchester. Later he and his wife became caretakers at the Every Street Mission in Manchester. They had the following children:

Hannah Bartram. She was born in 1885 in Manchester. She was married on 3 June 1911 to Charles Eastwood Locking 1888-1962 in Manchester. They had a son Charles William Locking 1910-1966 and daughter Doris F Locking 1913-1913. Hannah Locking née Bartram died on 15 April 1948 in Scarborough aged 62 years.

Florrie Bartram. She was born in 1887, and baptised on 23 February 1887 at All Souls' church in Manchester. She was married to William Wood in 1908, and died in 1965 in Manchester aged 78 years.

Bertha Bartram. She was born in 1888, and baptised on 4 November 1888 at All Souls' church in Manchester. She was unmarried and died in 1940 at Stockport in Cheshire.

Charles William Bartram. He was born in 1891, and baptised on 20 May 1891 at All Souls' church in Manchester. In 1915 he married Emily Peaker in Manchester, and they lived at Reddish near Stockport. His wife was born in Beswick in 1887, the daughter of Henry Peaker 1843-1931 and his wife nee Emma Louise Simpson (born in 1846). Charles William Bartram died in 1963 at Stockport.

Percy Bartram. He was born in 1894 in Manchester. He died in Cheshire in 1943 aged 49 years.

Their father Charles Bartram died in 1929 aged 76 years.

His widow Hannah Bartram née Phillips died in 1930.
