Nat Gould

William Wood 1810-1881

William Wood was born in 1810 at Longnor in Staffordshire, the son of Thomas Wood 1775-1819 and his wife née Ann Edge 1783-1821, and baptised there on 23 September 1810.

On 15 October 1838 he married Elizabeth Brindley of Warslow in Staffordshire 1815-1892 at Alstonefield church.

They had the following children:

William Wood. He was born in 1840.

Elizabeth Wood. She was born in 1841.

Thomas Wood. He was born in 1843. He married Eliza Thomas, born in 1844 at Ardwick in Manchester.
They had the following children: Amy E Wood (born in 1876), Emily Wood (born in 1878), Walter Wood (born in 1880), Bell Wood (born in 1883), Charlotte Wood (born in 1885), Alfred Wood (born in 1887), and Lavinia Elizabeth Wood (born in 1891).

Margaret Wood. She was born in 1846.

Alice Ann Wood. She was born in 1848 and died in 1925.

James Wood. He was born in 1850.

Mary Wood. She was born in 1852.

Peter Wood. He was born in 1855 and died in 1909.

Sophia Wood. She was born in 1859 and died in 1925.

Their father William died in 1881 at Macclesfield.
