Thomas Wood 1775-1819

Thomas Wood was born on 13 April 1775 at Longnor in Staffordshire, the son of John Wood 1743-1813 and his wife née Mary (maiden surname unknown).

On 7 October 1799 he married Ann Edge 1783-1821 at Alstonefield in Staffordshire.

They had the following children, all born in Fawfieldhead, Longnor:

Mary Wood. She was born in 1800, and baptised at Longnor on 23 February 1800. She was married at Alstonefield church to Samuel Mellor 1791-1862, the son of Thomas Mellor and his wife née Elizabeth Parker. She died in 1864 at Longnor.

John Wood. He was born in 1802, and baptised at Longnor on 6 June 1802.

Thomas Wood. He was born in 1805, and baptised at Longnor on 19 January 1806.

Elizabeth Wood. She was born in 1807, and baptised at Longnor on 10 January 1808.

William Wood. He was born in 1810, and baptised at Longnor on 23 September 1810. He married Elizabeth Brindley 1815-1892, and died in 1881 at Macclesfield, Cheshire.

Hannah Wood. She was born in 1812, and baptised at Longnor on 1 November 1812. On 24 February 1834 she was married at Alstonefield church to William Adams 1813-1898, the son of John Adams (born 1782). She died on 8 March 1902.

Peter Wood. He was born in 1815, and baptised at Longnor on 5 February 1815. In 1872 he married Emma Harrison 1834-1909, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Harrison of Longnor. They lived at Town Head in Longnor. He died in 1889.

James Wood. He was born in 1817. In 1871 he was unmarried and living with his widowed brother Peter Wood at Town Head in Longnor.

Ann Wood. She was born in 1819.

Their father Thomas Wood died on 10 November 1819 in Fawfieldhead, Longnor aged 44 years.

His widow Ann Wood nee Edge died in 1821 and was buried at Longnor on 13 July 1821.
