Richard Eld was born in 1593 (1), the son of Richard Eld 1546-1621 of Seighford Hall at Seighford in Staffordshire (2) and his wife nee Margaret Wrottesley.
On 20 January 1615/1616 he married Margaret Crompton at St. Mary's church in Stafford. She was the daughter of Sir Thomas Crompton, Judge of the Admiralty, of Creswell Hall in Staffordshire and his wife nee Barbara Hudson. They had the following children:
Margaret Eld. She was baptised on 1 November 1616 at Seighford. On 30 September 1637 she was married at Adbaston in Staffordshire to Thomas Gaywood, the son of Thomas Gaywood of Bishops Offley in Staffordshire and his wife nee Catherine Vyse. Her husband was a captain in the Royalist army during the English Civil Wars and was killed at the Battle of Bridgnorth in 1646.
Thomas Eld. He died in 1619, and was buried on 4 November 1619 at Seighford.
Francis Eld. He was baptised on 8 January 1622/1623. He died in 1686/1687, and was buried on 17 February 1686/1687.
Their mother Margaret Eld died in 1626, and was buried on 1 May 1626 at Seighford.
Richard Eld married secondly Mary Lutwich, daughter of the Reverend Stocket Lutwich (Rector of Swinnerton in Staffordshire) and his wife nee Jane Benbow.
They had the following children, all baptised at Seighford:
Richard Eld. He was baptised on 15 July 1628. He lived in Manchester, and died on 19 September 1684.
Dorothy Eld. She was baptised on 5 May 1629.
Elizabeth Eld. She was baptised on 13 May 1630.
Gabriel Eld. He was baptised on 18 September 1631.
Mary Eld. She was baptised on 13 October 1632.
Anne Eld. She was baptised on 25 May 1635.
Their father Richard Eld died on 10 August 1640 at Seighford.
His widow married Colonel Stepkin.
