Ralph Wooddisse 1780-1855

Ralph Wooddisse was born in 1780 at Hartington in Derbyshire, the son of Edward Wooddisse 1744-1822 and his wife née Ellen Adams 1757-1849. He was baptised at Hartington on 20 February 1780.

He married Hannah Bagshaw 1783-1842.

They had the following children:

Ralph Wooddisse. He was born in 1807 at Alstonefield in Staffordshire. In 1838 he married Elizabeth Beardmore 1811-1890. He died on 17 December 1850 aged 43 years, and was buried at Alstonefield.

Thomas Wooddisse. He was born on 21 July 1810 at Alstonefield. In 1834 he married Judith Bonsall. She died in 1862 and he married Anne Leese in 1863. He died on 18 May 1890, and was buried at Alstonefield.

George Wooddisse. He was born in 1814 and died in 1821.

Ann Wooddisse. She was born in 1817 and died in 1879.

Ellen Wooddisse. She was born in 1820 and died in 1898.

Elizabeth Wooddisse. She was born in 1825 and died in 1852.

Hannah Wooddisse. Born in 1825, she died on 10 April 1877 aged 52 years and was buried with her parents at Alstonefield. She was unmarried.

Their father Ralph Wooddisse died on 10 September 1855 at Alstonefield aged 75 years, and was buried at Alstonefield where there is a monumental inscription to his memory and that of his wife and daughter Hannah Wooddisse 1825-1877.

His wife Hannah Wooddisse née Bagshaw predeceased him on 7 November 1842 aged 59 years, and was buried at Alstonefield.
