Edmund Wooddisse was born in 1789 at Hartington in Derbyshire, the son of Edward Wooddisse 1744-1822 and his wife née Ellen Adams 1757-1849. He was baptised at Hartington on 21 June 1789.
Edmund Wooddisse was a carpenter and joiner.
He married Martha Needham 1793-1837 at Earl Sterndale in Derbyshire on 8 December 1812. She was born in 1793 at Earl Sterndale and died in 1837 at Hartington. They lived at at The Rakes in Sheen, Staffordshire.
They had the following children:
John Wooddisse. He was born in 1813 at Hartington, and died in 1894 at Stockport in Cheshire. He married Martha Needham 1793-1837.
Jane Wooddisse. She was born in 1815, and baptised at Hartington on 8 May 1815.
Joseph Wooddisse. He was born in 1817, and baptised at Hartington on 25 December 1817.
Edward Wooddisse. He was born in 1820, and baptised at Hartington on 13 September 1820. He died in 1836 aged fifteen years, and was buried at Hartington on 19 February 1836.
Edmund Wooddisse. He was born in 1824, and baptised at Hartington on 9 September 1824.
Ralph Wooddisse. He was born in 1827, and baptised at Hartington on 3 September 1827.
Martha Wooddisse. He was born in 1830, and baptised at Hartington on 7 February 1830.
Their mother died in 1837 aged only 46 years, and was buried at Hartington on 29 June 1837.
On 9 December 1841 Edmund Wooddisse married Mary Woollall at Wetton in Staffordshire. She was born in 1797 at Ilam in Staffordshire.
Their father Edmund Wooddisse died in 1861 aged 71 years, and was buried at Hartington on 20 April 1861.
