Nat Gould

John Gould 1867-1943

John Gould was born on 8 February 1867 at Grindon in Staffordshire, the son of William Smith Gould and his wife née Rachel Smith.

He married Harriett Weston in 1886, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Weston of Hobcroft, Warslow in Staffordshire. They had the following children:

Gertie Mottram Gould. She was born in 1895. In 1918 she was married at Cheadle in Staffordshire to Joseph Mycock. He died on 13 January 1923 aged 40 years and she died on 28 July 1948 aged 54 years. They were buried at Grindon, where there is a memorial gravestone. They had a daughter Harriet Elizabeth Mycock. She died on 24 October 2000 and was also buried at Grindon, where there is a memorial gravestone.

Lizzie Gould. She was born in 1899.

John Gould. He was born in 1902. He married Florence (maiden surname unknown). She died on 5 August 1961 aged 70 years. John Gould died on 13 February 1988 aged 86 years. They were buried at Grindon, where there is a memorial gravestone.

In 1891 John and Harriett Gould were farming at Botts Tenement, Berkhamsych (also called Bottom House) in Ipstones parish, where they lived for the rest of their lives. John Gould died on 28 January 1943 aged 76 years. Harriett Gould died on 7 January 1960 aged 92 years. They were buried at Grindon, where there is a memorial gravestone.
