Elizabeth Horobin was born in 1847 at High Needham in Derbyshire, the daughter of Robert Horobin 1813-1851 and his wife née Susanna Needham 1826-1857.
She was baptised on 6 June 1847 at Earl Sterndale in Derbyshire.
Her parents farmed at High Needham near Earl Sterndale, but when the Census was taken in 1861 she was living aged thirteen with her unmarried aunt Sarah Needham at Cut House in Earl Sterndale, together with her brother Charles Horobin then aged ten.
She was married to Thomas Edge on 15 April 1877 at Hartington by licence. She was his second wife. He was born in 1847, the son of John Edge farming thirty acres at Upper Barn in Fawfieldhead near Longnor in Staffordshire. In 1861 he was working aged thirteen as a farm labourer at High Needham.
He had married Charlotte Birch in 1868 and had the following children: Martha Edge (born in 1868), Mary E Edge (born in 1870) and Thomas Edge (born in 1873). They lived at Under Hill in Longnor. Charlotte Edge nee Birch died in 1874 aged only 27 years.
By his second marriage, to Elizabeth Horobin, Thomas Edge had a son James Edge (born 1878).
Elizabeth Edge née Horobin died in 1900 aged 54 years and was buried at Earl Sterndale on 3 October 1900.
