Mary Lomas was born on 16 November 1777 at Earl Sterndale in Derbyshire, the daughter of Thomas Lomas 1745-1817 and his wife nee Margaret Wheeldon 1751-1783.
She was married on 2 January 1804 to Isaac Wheeldon. He was her first cousin, born in 1772 the son of Isaac Wheeldon 1744-1823 and his wife nee Sarah Knowles. He died on 20 August 1807 and was buried on 27 August in that year at Hartington in Derbyshire.
His widow was married on 6 March 1810 to George Wood at Bakewell in Derbyshire. The lived at Cronkstone Grange in Hartington parish.
They had a daughter Martha Lomas Wood. She was baptised on 27 June 1813 at Earl Sterndale. On 7 October 1840 she was married to James Napier in Manchester Collegiate Church, now the Cathedral. She died in 1843.
Her mother Mary Wood nee Lomas died in 1848.
