Margaret Wheeldon was born in 1751, the daughter of John Wheeldon 1709-1780 and his wife nee Margaret Goodwin 1712-1788. She was baptised on 27 December 1751 at Hartington in Derbyshire.
On 17 April 1777 she was married by licence to Thomas Lomas at Earl Sterndale in Derbyshire. He was baptised on 1 December 1745 at Hartington, and was the son of Thomas Lomas 1702-1760 and his wife nee Margaret Ratcliffe 1730-1800 of Glutton near Earl Sterndale.
They had the following children:
Margaret Lomas. She was born on 16 November 1777 at Earl Sterndale. She was married there on 6 August 1805 to the Reverend Richard Bentley 1772-1822, the Vicar of Leek in Staffordshire. She died at Buxton in Derbyshire, and was buried on 13 July 1839 at Leek.
Thomas Lomas. He was born in 1779, and was baptised on 1 February 1779 at Earl Sterndale. He lived at Glutton, died in 1854 aged 75 years, and was buried at Earl Sterndale on 30 November 1854.
Mary Lomas. She was born in 1780 and baptised on 25 October 1780 at Earl Sterndale. She married her first cousin Isaac Wheeldon 1772-1807 on 2 January 1804.
Barbara Wheeldon Lomas. She was born in 1783 and baptised on 29 June 1783 at Earl Sterndale. She died on 21 December in the same year aged only 28 weeks, and was buried at Hartington on 23 December 1783.
Their mother Margaret Lomas nee Wheeldon died on 9 December 1783 aged 32 years, and was buried at Hartington on 12 December 1783.
Her husband Thomas Lomas died on 3 September 1817 aged 71 years, and was buried at Hartington on 8 September 1817.
