Henry Hambleton 1857-1936

Milldale

Henry Hambleton was born in 1857 at Milldale in Alstonefield parish in Staffordshire, the son of Samuel Hambleton 1812-1880 and his wife nee Rachel Beresford 1812-1894.

In 1889 he married Eliza Adams. She was born in 1867 at Alsop-en-le-Dale in Derbyshire.

They had the following children, all born in Milldale:

Lizzie Hambleton. She was born in 1890.

Hannah Hambleton. She was born in 1892.

William Henry. He was born on 16 May 1896, and died on 30 September 1898. He was buried at Alstonefield, where there is a gravestone inscribed to his memory.

Samuel Hambleton. He was born in 1900.

Alice Hambleton. She was born in 1902.

Henry James Hambleton. He was born in 1906.

Robert Hambleton. He was born in 1908.

Their father Henry Hambleton died on 18 July 1936 aged 79 years, and was buried at Alstonefield, where there is a gravestone inscribed to his memory and that of his wife.

His widow Eliza Hambleton died on 16 September 1950 aged 84 years, and was buried at Alstonefield.
