Robert Bennington was born in 1807 at Sporle in Norfolk, the son of Thomas Bennington born 1767 and his wife nee Phoebe Bowman.

He married Mary A. [[maiden surname unknown] in 1824. She was born in 1812 at Sporle, Norfolk, and died in June 1894 at Sporle.

Anderson Bennington. He was born in 1834.

James Bennington. He was born in 1836. He married Harriet [[maiden surname unknown] who was born in Sporle in 1842 and died there in 1894. They had five children, Leah Bennington (born in Sporle in 1863), Henry Bennington (born in Sporle in 1864), Jesse Bennington (born in Sporle in 1866), Mary E. Bennington (born in Crook, Durham in 1870), and Lizzie Bennington (born in Witton Park, Durham in 1872). In 1881 James Bennington was a coal miner.

Ann Bennington. She was born in 1838.

Jesse Bennington. He was born in 1840, and died in December 1932. In 1869 he married Emily Green born in Sporle in 1846, the daughter of William and Ann Green. They had three children, Maria Bennington (born in 1870 at Sporle), James Bennington (born in 1873 at Sporle), and Sarah Bennington (born in 1875 at Felmingham in Norfolk).

William Bennington. He was born in 1841. He became a coal miner. In 1869 he married Mary E. Green born in Sporle in 1849. They had five children, Robert William Bennington (born in 1869 at Sporle), Barbara Green Bennington (born in 1870 at Sporle), John Thomas Bennington (born in 1871 at Witton Park in Durham), James H. Bennington (born in 1873 at Etherly in Durham), and Maria Bennington (born in 1876 at Esconbe in Durham). Barbara Green Bennington married Charles Bartle Goate in 1896 at Swaffham in Norfolk. He was born in 1867 at King's Lynn in Norfolk.
