Moses Horobin was born on 25 May 1800 at Sheen in Staffordshire, the son of John Horobin 1764-1824 and his wife née Mary Wheeldon 1773-1835.

He married Mary Belfield 1802-1885 on 15 May 1832 at Alstonefield in Staffordshire. She was born at Fawfieldhead in Staffordshire in 1802. They lived at Dog Lane in Longnor, Staffordshire. Moses Horobin was a road labourer.

They had the following children, all born in Longnor:

Joseph Horobin. He was born in 1833. He married Mary (surname unknown), born in Longnor in 1849, and they had the following children, both born in Longnor: Mary Elizabeth Horobin (born in 1878) and Martha Horobin (born in 1889). He died in 1907 aged 74 years.

Richard Horobin. He was born in 1835.

Mary Horobin. She was born in 1838.

Moses Horobin. He was born in 1840. When the Census was taken in 1861 he was recorded as being employed as a road labourer, as were his father and brother Henry Horobin. He married Elizabeth Horobin (born 1838) and had two children, both born in Manchester: Thirza Horobin (born in 1866) and Thomas Horobin (born in 1870). Moses Horobin died on 5 September 1902 at Buxton in Derbyshire.

Henry Richard Horobin. He was born in 1842. In 1861 he was a road labourer, as were his father and brother Moses Horobin. In 1868 he married Mary Ann Henshaw (born in Manchester in 1832), and after moving to Manchester he became a carter and then a lorry driver. He had four step-children, all born in Manchester: Sarah Henshaw (born in 1856), Frederick Henshaw (born in 1858), Annie Henshaw (born in 1859) and Ann Henshaw (born in 1862). Their step-father Moses Horobin died in 1870.

His widow Mary Horobin née Belfield died on 17 June 1885 at Longnor.
