Nat Gould

Frances Gould 1825-1890

Frances Gould was born on 1 Feb 1825, the younger daughter of Richard Gould 1792-1868 of Hope Hall near Eccles in Lancashire and his wife nee Susan Bateman 1795-1828. She was baptised on 3 July 1825 at St Stephen's church in Salford.

On 13 June 1845 she was married at Eccles to Major-General John Hinde CB, the son of the Reverend John Hinde and his wife nee Jane Berthon. John Hinde was born on 2 August 1814 at Yoxley in Hampshire.

They had the following children :

John Henry Edward Hinde. He was born in 1847 at Poona in India.

Charles William Hinde. He was born in 1850 at Harrackee in India.

Susan Jane Hinde. She was born in 1852 in India.

Charlotte Hinde. She was born in 1854 in India.

Mary Hinde. She was born in 1857 at Grimley in Worcestershire.

Francis Richard Berthon Hinde. He was born in 1865 at Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk.

Herbert Hinde. He was born in 1866 at the Curragh in Ireland.

Edith Hinde. She was born in 1858 in Shropshire.

Henry Hinde. He was born in 1870 at Powick in Worcestershire.

Their mother Frances Hinde nee Gould died on 21 November 1890 at Southwell in Nottinghamshire (1).

Her husband Major-General John Hinde had predeceased her on 1 March 1881 at The Hermitage, Powick in Worcestershire.

(1) Probate of her Will was granted on 1 January 1895 to her son John Henry Edward Hinde, a major in the Border Regiment. Effects £9,936 16s 10d. National Probate Calendar (Index of Wills and Administrations) 1858-1966 (1895) page 146. There had been an early grant of probate in February 1891.
