George Austin was the son of Hannah Austin 1755-1838 of Brassington in Derbyshire. Samuel and Hannah Austin lived in Alstonefield parish (presumably in Milldale) and later in Alsop-en-le-Dale. They had the following children: Samuel Austin (baptised on 14 October 1840 at Hartington), Daniel Austin (born in 1844 at Alstonefield), Maria Austin (born in 1846 at Alstonefield), Mary Ann Austin (born in 1849 in Alsop-en-le-Dale), George Austin (born in 1850 in Alsop-en-le-Dale), James Austin 1853-1922, Thomas Austin 1855-1878, and Margaret Austin (born in 1857). Their father Samuel Austin died on 13 April 1858 at Ashbourne in Derbyshire.
Peter Austin. He was baptised at Alstonefield on 4 July 1808. On he married Eleanor Rogers, baptised on 27 June 1802 at Burslem in Staffordshire, the daughter of Silas Rogers 1750-1802 and his wife nee Mary Booth. On 20 January 1818 she was married to William Dovey 1788-1837 on by whom she had eight children, most of whom emigrated to the United States of America. She was married to Peter Austin on 29 January 1843 at Hanley in Staffordshire. They also emigrated to America, and were recorded at Wellsville in the U.S. Census taken on 24 July 1850. Peter Austin died on 14 April 1871 at Wellsville, Columbiana, Ohio, where his wife had predeceased him on 11 March 1860.

On 5 January 1832 she was married at Alstonefield church to George Hambleton 1810-1891 of Milldale, the son of John Hambleton 1766-1821, a baker, and his wife nee Elizabeth or Betty Cantrell 1765-1840. They had the following children: Daniel Hambleton (born 1833), George Hambleton 1838-1919, William Hambleton 1841-1917 (died in Ashbourne), Paul Hambleton 1844-1920 (died in Manchester), Sarah Hambleton (born in 1845), James Hambleton (born at Hope Dale in 1849, and Charity Hambleton 1851-1909, who was born at Hope Dale, became a nurse, was married in 1876 to Thomas Parker at Cheadle in Staffordshire, lived at Quixhill Lodge near Denstone in Staffordshire, and had a son and three daughters.

Walter Naden Austin. He was born in 1820. He married Elizabeth (surname unknown), and had two sons and a daughter. He died at Ashbourne in 1889.
Their father Daniel Austin died in 1857.
His widow Hannah Austin nee Edensor is said to have lived to the age 104, and died in 1888 (3).
They were the grandparents of Hannah Austin 1832-1899 of Milldale, who was married to John Murrell Bennington 1828-1901, born at Wendling in Norfolk and known in Milldale village and the surrounding district as "Owd Norfolk". The circumstances in which he arrived at Milldale are uncertain.
(1) When the two eldest children were baptised, their parent were stated to be of Ballidon. However when the third child Amy Edensor was baptised her parents were of Bradbourne. So the move from Ballidon to Bradbourne took place between 1781 and 1783 inclusive.
(2) Derby Mercury 8 January 1845; Derbyshire Courier 11 January 1845.
(3) If her birth year was 1776, as calculated from the Census Returns, then she was actually the still more remarkable age of 112 when she died.
