Charles Edwin Gregory

Charles Edwin Gregory was born in 1888 at Newton in Manchester, the son of George Gregory 1863-1944 and his wife nee Susannah Pender 1864-1938. He became an electrician's commutator builder at a dynamo works, and at the time of his marriage he was living at 80 Stowell Street in Weaste, Salford in Lancashire..

He married Mary Bennington 1882-1952 on 20 June 1908 at St Luke's church in Weaste. She was born in 1882 at Grove Cottage, Grindon in Staffordshire, the daughter of William Bennington 1860-1923 and Ann Gould 1857-1923. In the family she was known as Polly.

They had the following children:

Winifred Mary Gregory. She was born on 4 October 1906 at Ancoats in Manchester, and died in 1984.

Helen Gregory. She was born in 1909 at Chorlton-on-Medlock in Manchester. She died in 1913 aged four years.

Charles Gregory. He was born in 1911 at Ardwick in Manchester.

James Gregory.

In 1911 the family were living at 97 Carmen Street, Ardwick in Manchester. Later they moved to 2 Hassop Street in Manchester.

Mary Gregory died in 1952 aged 69 years.
