Thomas Horobin was born in 1858 at Crowdecote in Hartington parish in Derbyshire, the son of William Horobin 1807-1886 and his wife nee Mary Edge 1825-1913.

He was baptised on 11 July 1858 at Earl Sterndale in Derbyshire.

He married Jane Weston on 24 January 1899 at Earl Sterndale. She was born in about 1862 at Buxton in Derbyshire.

When the 1901 Census was taken they were living in a cottage at Crowdecote, adjoining his parents' home at Meadow Farm. Thomas Horobin was then a stone waller.

However by 1911 they were living at Under Hill.

Thomas Horobin was then a roadman working for the County Council.

They had no children by 1911.

Thomas Horobin died on 5 February 1942 at Dove Cottage in Crowdecote aged 83 years (1).
