Sarah Hannah Austin 1885-1950

Sarah Hannah Austin was born in 1885 at Milldale in Alstonefield parish in Staffordshire, the daughter of James Austin.

In 1888 her father James Austin married Mary Hambleton. She was born in 1854 at Milldale, the daughter of Samuel Hambleton and his wife nee Rachel Beresford. They lived in Milldale, and had no children.

When the 1891 Census was taken Sarah Hannah Austin was living in Milldale with her father and stepmother. In 1901 she was working as a general servant at Alstonefield Hall farm for widowed Mary White (born 1829). In 1911 she was employed as a general servant by William Henry Walwyn farming at Broad Close farm, Tissington in Derbyshire. He was the husband of her cousin Ruth Naomi Redfern 1865-1946.

She was married to Peter Gould in 1913. He was probably Peter Gould 1881-1931, the son of James Gould 1822-1903 of Heathcote in Hartington parish and his second wife nee Jane Buxton 1850-1929.

Sarah Hannah Gould died in 1950 aged 65 years.
