Richard Goodwin 1679-1763

Richard Goodwin was the son of Joseph and Margaret Goodwin of Chelmorton in Derbyshire, who married in 1670. Joseph Goodwin died on 20 October 1690 and was buried at Chelmorton. Margaret Goodwin (maiden surname unknown) died on 11 October 1726, and was also buried at Chelmorton.

Their son Richard Goodwin 1679-1763 was baptised on 23 January 1679 (modern style) at Hartington in Derbyshire. He died on 18 August 1763, and was buried on 21 August 1763 at Tissington in Derbyshire.

He married Elizabeth Buxton 1682-1776 on 5 May 1707 at Tissington. She was born on 8 April 1682 at Carsington in Derbyshire, the daughter of Edmund Buxton and Thomasin Roe, and was baptised on 27 April 1682 at Carsington. She died on 5 August 1776, and was buried at Tissington.

They had the following children:

Elizabeth Goodwin 1708-1784. She was baptised on 28 February 1708, and buried on 9 November 1784.

Richard Goodwin 1711-1171. He was baptised on 15 July 1711 at Tissington, and buried there on 26 July 1711.

Margaret Goodwin 1712-1788. She was baptised on 27 August 1712, and died on 8 February 1788.

Thomasin Goodwin 1715-1715. She was baptised on 7 May 1715 at Tissington, and buried there on 20 June 1715.

Joseph Goodwin 1716-1777. He was baptised on 19 August 1716, and died on 5 July 1772.

Edmund Buxton Goodwin 1720-1777. He was baptised on 13 June 1720, and died on 28 December 1777.

Thomas Goodwin 1724-1724. He was baptised on 12 July 1724 at Tissington, and buried there on 29 September 1724.
