Lydia Gould was born in 1767, the daughter of Joseph Gould 1715-1777 and his wife nee Ellen Gilbert 1722-1792, and baptised at Bakewell on 20 November 1767.
On 9 February 1809 she was married at Brighton in Sussex to Samuel Lucas of Royds Mill in Sheffield, a silver refiner. She was his second wife and had no children.
