Anne Berisford 1697-1762

Anne Berisford was born in about 1697, the daughter of Anthony Berisford of Cold Eaton near Alsop-en-le-Dale in Derbyshire and his wife née Mary Mellor of Warslow in Staffordshire.

On 7 April 1716 she was married to Thomas Greensmith 1687-1729 of Thorpe in Derbyshire.

They had the following children:

John Greensmith. He was born at Thorpe in 1716, and was baptised on 24 March 1716 at Alsop-en-le-Dale. He married Sarah Buxton on 19 May 1743 at Bradbourne in Derbyshire. She was born in 1717, the daughter of Thomas Buxton of Bradbourne and his wife née Martha Bradley. They lived at Kniveton in Derbyshire.

Mary Greensmith. She was born in 1718, and was baptised on 26 October 1718.

Anne Greensmith. She was born in 1720 and died in the same year. She was buried on 10 January 1721 at Thorpe.

Francis Greensmith. He was born in 1723-

Dorothy Greensmith. She was born in 1726-

Thomas Greensmith. He was born in 1729-

Anne Greensmith. She was alive in 1728.

Their father Thomas Greensmith died in 1729, and was buried on 6 September 1729.

Their mother Anne Greensmith nee Berisford was married to John Bagshaw of Newton Grange near Thorpe.

They had the following children:

Ellen Bagshaw. She was born in 1733

Anthony Bagshaw. He was born in 1736, and baptised on 1 August 1736. On 6 December 1760 he married Mary Berisford 1735-1810 at Ashbourne in Derbyshire. He died in 1812, and was buried on 6 July 1812.
