His life and books
The Reverend Sidney George Gillum was born in 1836 and died in 1916.
He was a Scholar of Peterhouse College, Cambridge 1856-1857, and graduated BA in 1859 and MA in 1864. He was ordained deacon at Winchester in 1859 and priest there in 1860. He was Curate of Vernham Dean in Hampshire 1859-1862, Curate of Brightwell in Berkshire 1864-1865, Curate of Old Alresford in Hampshire 1865-1866, Perpetual Curate of Tongham in Surrey 1866-1869, Rector of Pentridge in Dorset 1875-1881, Rector of Millbrook in Bedforshire 1881-1891, and Vicar of Pucklechurch with Abson, Bristol 1891-1910.
He retired to Exmouth in Devon, where he died on 2 July 1916 aged 81 years (1).
He was the son of Widgwood Gillum 1792-1846 and his second wife Anne Seagrim.
