Ralph Benjamin Wooddisse was born in 1868 at Alstonefield in Staffordshire, the son of Thomas Wooddisse 1810-1890 and his wife née Anne Leese 1828-1907.
When the Census was taken in 1881 he was living at home in Alstonefield on the family farm with his parents and two younger brothers.
In 1908 he married Amy Annie Hardwick at Axbridge in Somerset.
She was born in 1875 at Thornbury in Herefordshire, the daughter of Charles Hardwick 1839-1905 of Congresbury in Somerset and his wife née Amelia Sheppy 1843-1924.
When the Census was taken in 1911 they were living at Hope in Alstonefield parish, where he was recorded as a dairy and grazing farmer, having taken over the family farm.
They had the following children:
Benjamin Hardwick Wooddisse. He was born in 1909. He died in 1999, and was buried at Alstonefield where there is a memorial inscription to his memory.
Joyce Amelia Wooddisse. She was born in 1910, and died in 1969. She was unmarried.
Their father Ralph Benjamin Wooddisse died on 15 May 1949 at Bishopsworth near Bristol.

His Will was proved on 9 January 1950 (1).
His widow Amy Annie Wooddisse née Hardwick died on 16 July 1960.
Her Will was proved on 16 September 1960 (2).
