Joseph Middleton was born in 1855 at Tideswell in Derbyshire, the son of John Middleton and his wife nee Elizabeth Collis 1818-1885.
In 1861 to 1881 he was living at home with his parents in Tideswell.
When the 1891 Census was taken he was living there with his widowed father. He was recorded as being a general labourer.
He died in Tideswell in 1892 aged 38 years.
