Nat Gould

His life and books

A Brilliant Season

This book was first published in 1923 by John Long, and subqeuently reissued in paperback format.

The owner of a racing stable is almost universally disliked, and estranged from his son. Furthermore he is heavily in debt.

He wins a fortune with a sweepstake ticket, but is mysteriously shot dead in his empty house. Shortly afterwards his son unexpectedly returns home.

So begins this gripping story, one of the best from the pen of Nat Gould, who sadly did not live to see its publication (TA).
