This the last Will and Testament of me John Gould of Ludwell in the Parish of Hartington in the County of Derby Gentleman in manner following (that is to say) First I direct the payment of my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses and subject thereto I give devise and bequeath all and singular my real and Personal Estates and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever unto my dear Wife Mary Gould her heirs executors administrators and assigns absolutely and for ever according to the nature and qualities thereof respectively and appoint my said Wife sole Executrix of this my Will hereby revoking and declaring void all and every other wills or will by me at any time heretofore made In Witness whereof I the said John Gould have hereunto set my hand this twenty ninth day of March one thousand eight hundred and fifty four – John Gould – Signed published and declared by the said John Gould the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us present at the same time who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as Witnesses – James Hargate MD FRS John Gregory

Proved at London 7th June 1854 before the Judge by the Oath of Mary Gould Widow the Relict the sole Executrix to whom Administration was granted having been first sworn by Administration duly to administer.
